The latest stage in this drama!

I have been trying and failing to update from Home Insider Preview 14931 to 14942. The latest error message being

'We can't install some updates because other updates are in progress. Restarting your computer may help, and we'll keep trying to update.'

Binging on this gets me to the Microsoft Home Insirer Preview ISO for 14931. I download this and create a DVD for it.

I boot up with this DVD and get to the point where it tells me that 'to upgrade remove installation media and start again .. boot nromally and run Windows setup'. This was after selecting keep files and apps!

I start again and run setup.exe from the DVD from within Windows 10 (build 14931 but I hope this new installation will allow me to move to 14942).

First I select install updates but that leads to being told that 'can't tell if your PC has enough space'.

I restart but do not ask for updates and now the installation starts allowing me to keep files and apps.

After a few minutes I get 'Windows 10 installation has failed' !!

What is going on??!!
